We Are an Inclusive Spiritual Community teaching Spiritual principles for Empowerment and Self-Realization
CSLDurham exists to expand human consciousness through the practical application of Science of Mind teachings, which are based on Love and Law and awareness of the power within.
We are a Spiritual Community located in Durham, NC near The Research Triangle Park (RTP). Our Center's location near the intersection of Hwy. 54 and Hwy. 55 makes it easily accessible to Raleigh, Durham, Chapel-Hill and all of the people who live and work in RTP itself. Interstate highways 85 and 40 provide access to points further away.
We accomplish our vision by offering:
- Inspiration through Sunday Celebration Services,
- Education and spiritual development through classes, seminars, bookstore, tape ministry and youth programs,
- Fellowship through volunteer opportunities, social activities, and development of a spiritual community, and
- Healing through our counseling service and practitioner program.
We measure our success as we watch ourselves and others more fully express health, prosperity, joy, creativity, freedom, inner peace and love.
The Center for Spiritual Living of Durham is affiliated with International Centers for Spiritual Living (ICSL), founded by Dr. Ernest Holmes. All of our Ministers and Practitioners are licensed, after years of study, by ICSL (RSI).
We teach the Science of Mind as developed by Dr. Holmes and which acknowledges the Truth in all religions and philosophies. We accept the truth wherever we find it and leave the rest behind. In many of the worlds teachings we can find common themes. Buddhism teaches that everything we experience is a result of what we think. Jesus said "let it be done unto you according to your belief," and you are probably familiar with the quote from Proverbs, "As a man thinks and believes in his heart, so is he." The Center for Spiritual Living of Durham invites people of all denominations and backgrounds and of no particular denomination to join together to explore these principles and to learn how to apply them to our every day life. You do not have to give up anything to study with us. You are welcome to attend class here during the week and visit the church, temple, or synagogue of your choice.
Can you imagine what life could be like if it really is done unto us according to our belief? At the Center For Spiritual Living of Durham, we study and practice together to help each other expand our concept of what life is, and what it can be. We have seen people's lives change for the better, as their beliefs changed. These changes include the demonstration of physical healing, increased prosperity, loving relationships and fulfilling, harmonious employment.

We are a teaching ministry and as such we have many, many classes, seminars, and workshops available to help you increase your understanding of Spiritual Principles and how to apply them to your everyday life.
Electricity existed during the time of the cave men, but they could not use it because they did not have the knowledge. Through the dedicated study and application of Spiritual Principles we can learn how to express life more fully and leave all limitations in life behind us.
Our special events bring in some of the best teachers in the New Thought movement. Through special workshops and lectures, we help to create exposure to new and different ideas. This leads to a greater dialogue of the ideas and further study to help us formulate our own understanding.
This, of course, is the path of deeper understanding which makes for easier application in our lives.
Dr. Holmes said that we can only know what we can prove to ourselves to be true. It is in this spirit that we invite you to join us to explore new ideas, to implement them into our daily lives, to discuss them under the guidance of experienced teachers, and to prove them to be true for us.
In this manner, we learn together, we grow together, and we celebrate each other as we witness the magnificent changes that occur in the outer experience as the inner beliefs expand.
